Alpha Company, 2-82nd AHB (Assault Helicopter Battalion) of the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) is part of the 82nd Airborne Division, a unit known for its role in forcible entry operations. The 82nd CAB, previously the 82nd Aviation Battalion, was the first combat aviation battalion assigned to a division-sized unit in the U.S. Army. The 82nd Airborne Division, a division-sized unit, is known for its "All American" nickname due to its initial members coming from all 48 states. The 82nd Airborne Division also has a history of deploying during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
